6-Week Immersive Course


Upcoming Cycles:
Level 2 - June 6th through July 18th (No class July 4th)
Level 1 - August 1st through September 12 (No class September 5th)

$200 for active BzoukY students

What to Expect:

✔ Mix of pattern-focused and concept-focused instruction

✔ Accelerated student development as a progressive cohort each session (no drop-ins after course start)

✔ Training drills to create proper muscle-memory to comfortably execute Zouk movements with an organic look and feel

✔ Detailed discussions to facilitate deep understanding of core pattern components/concepts

✔ Exploration of popular variations & guided practice in creating fluid transitions between patterns

✔ Improved understanding of partner connection, rhythm, timing, and musicality to create new opportunities while social dancing

Course Options:

Level 1

💥Establish solid fundamentals in all Brazilian Zouk basic   patterns, including: Basic step, Lateral, Simple turn, Basic to prep, Viradinha, Abertura, Yo-yo, Soltinho, Boomerang/Bonus, and more!

💥Emphasis on refining technical application and developing of rhythm & musicality

Prerequisites: None.

Level 2

💥Establish deep understanding of advanced concepts to enable student creativity and ability to seamlessly integrate concepts across a variety of patterns

💥 In-depth focus on Body Isolations, Head Movement, and Axis work

💥Exploration of patterns highlighting featured focus areas

Prerequisites: Immersive Course Level 1 or instructor approval.

Pricing & Other Details:

👉 Full amount ($210 or $200 per qualification) is due at time of registration. 

👉 Full refunds will be granted until the Sunday before the session starts at 11:59pm. After this time, all sales are final and refunds will not be issued. 

👉 Course must have at least 5 individuals enrolled to run.

- These courses are specifically designed for committed individuals who are ready to invest in their dance by dedicating themselves to the course for the entire 6-week session. While specific prerequisites may apply to each level, the Immersive Course series is perfect for students who are looking to: establish, solidify, and train core fundamentals; dancers looking to improve application in social environments (aka “in the wild”); or, experienced students interested in learning a new role. Still unsure if this course is for you? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗺 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴?

- 12 hours of instruction delivered in 2 hour blocks over the course of 6 consecutive weeks.

- Private group to facilitate efficient and effective progression through core Brazilian Zouk material. This is an opportunity to practice and evolve with a cohort of committed peers where student progress can be expedited through increased material coverage and implementation of skills.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀?

-This series is designed to provide a comprehensive experience over the course of the full 6 weeks, therefore we are unable to offer any discounts on the series for missed classes. However, we do understand that life happens and students may need to miss class due to planned or unplanned events. We are happy to offer an extremely reduced private lesson to Immersive Course students for these instances: $30 for 1 instructor or $50 for 2 instructors per make-up class, plus floor fee when applicable. You are not required to participate in a make-up session for missed classes, however please be respectful of your classmates and understand that material from previous classes will not be revisited due to absence.

Instruction Style:
- Pattern-focused

- Introduction to foundational Zouk syllabus
     - Basic, lateral, simple turn, soltinho, open up, yo-yo, viradinha, elastico 

Primary Goals:
- Acquire knowledge of fundamental Zouk patterns
- Develop understanding of Zouk rhythm and timing
- Troubleshoot / targeted improvement of known patterns, yielding improved technical application, musicality, styling, and versatility with different partners.

Instruction Style:
- Mix of pattern-focused and concept-focused

- Further development of fundamental patterns for comfortable execution and incorporation of musicality

- Introduce new methods for transition between movements
- Introduce advanced subjects such as: elástico, raúl, body isolations, head movements, shapes, multiple turns, traveling patterns, counter-balance, use of axis, styling, footwork, arm locks, etc.

Primary Goals:
- Expand student repertoire of available patterns
- Enable students to safely explore new movements through a deeper understanding of core pattern concepts
- Train known subjects in different patterns to expand student skill range and application
- Ongoing training opportunity for practice of core Zouk principles/patterns with instructor feedback
